Reducing Re-offending
Welcome to Insider Access
The unique magazine - Reducing re-offending
Written, edited and published by offenders in prison and
ex-offenders in the community.
Insider Access allows offenders in prison and ex-offenders in the
community to engage in real life work activity, developing skills
and increasing their employability.
Insider Access provides meaningful activity in prison. When the
cell door closes offenders can continue writing and providing
content for the magazine.
We provide work experience for offenders on licence, and
ex-offenders in the community developing their IT skills and
basic employablity skills.
Filling ones day as an offender in
Prison is a challenge. Insider
Access engages prisoners into
writing or producing content. This
content may be produced as part
of the normal prison day or written
by the prisoner in their cell 'after
hours'.
It provides meaningful activity
linked to the world of work. Many
prisoners are keen to improve
themselves, and develop new
skills to break free from the
negative past.
The opportunity for offenders to be
able to have real life work
experience as part of their
resettlement plan is invaluable.
Insider Access offers offenders
nearing their release date (subject
to security checks) the
opportunity to work in our offices
on magazine editing and creative
design. This practical work
experience allows offenders the
opportunity (often for the first time)
to experience a work place and
work routine.
Insider Access provides the
opportunity for offenders on
release from prison to become
involved.
It is a well recognised fact that
meaningful activity when released
from prison in terms of
employment or volunteering,
greatly reduces the likelihood of
re-offending. Ex-offenders are
involved in all aspects of Insider
Access from creating copy to
marketing and sales.
Insider Access is Win, Win, Win.
